Going into work one day, he fires his receptionist for being late and unreliable. When one of his daughters gets sick and takes her to the doctor, and the doctor, Dr. Josephs is too busy to help him. After taking her home, and she gets sick again, he takes her to the sickle sell amaemia clinic 40 miles away. When she dies on the way, Tevis is furious and wants to sue the doctor for malpractice.
